Perspective

You set your goal. 26-mile bike ride today. You arrive at and scope out the first of several hills. Then you put your head down and commit to pedaling as fast and as hard as you can without looking up, every fiber committed to stopping only after you pass the crest of the hill.

Works.

Unless you didn't see the car parked in the bike lane halfway up the hill.

And then it's just a great jackass moment.

Picture this, a biker head down, into the breach as fast as they could ramming speed.

Straight into the back of a parked car.

Yes, I'm fine.
